Requirements
Our client, a manufacturer of turbojet engines, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that all suppliers meet stringent quality standards and contribute to the overall success of clients’ products. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Evaluation and Selection:Â Conduct audits and assessments of potential suppliers to evaluate their capabilities, processes, and quality systems.
Quality Assurance:Â Develop and implement quality assurance plans for suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Monitoring and Reporting:Â Track supplier performance metrics, analyze data, and report on quality issues, trends, and corrective actions.
Root Cause Analysis:Â Investigate quality-related issues and facilitate root cause analysis to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Collaboration:Â Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to address quality concerns and drive improvements.
Supplier Development:Â Lead initiatives to improve supplier quality performance through training, workshops, and collaborative projects.
Documentation:Â Maintain comprehensive documentation of supplier quality processes, including audits, inspections, and quality reports.
Regulatory Compliance:Â Ensure that suppliers adhere to all relevant regulatory and safety requirements within the aerospace industry.
Qualifications and Job Information
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in aerospace or a related industry.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma).
Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and standards, particularly related to turbojet engines.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 40% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in quality (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.
Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques and materials used in jet engine production.
Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics within the aerospace sector.
