Our client headquartered in Gainesville, GA, is seeking a SolidWorks Designer or a Mechanical Engineer. This position is pivotal in designing, creating, reviewing, and updating production drawings and technical documentation. This position will also assist in the development and design of new products and services to be offered to their customers!


Responsibilities:

  • Work with leadership, project managers, sales, manufacturing, and technical teams to deliver new products and high-quality deliverables.


  • Creation of precise SolidWorks 3D & 2D Drawing data for manufactured products.


  • Create professional product documentation needed to manufacture or procure designed components and assemblies. This includes component drawings and detailed assembly drawings.


  • Design components and assemblies for structural sheet/tube/plate (using laser/plasma cutting, bending, machining, welding).


  • Support the design of fixtures and tooling for production.


  • Develop and deliver BOMs, technical manuals, and installation instructions.



Qualifications and Job Information

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree, in Mechanical Engineering, or related experience.

  • Demonstrated expert experience with SolidWorks CAD for manufacture.

  • Experience designing with Extrusions / Sheetmetal / Weldments in SolidWorks.

  • Metal fabrication experience (sheet/plate/forming/machining/welding).

  • Experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Bill of Materials (BOM).

  • Tooling and fixture design.

  • Understanding bolt sizing, assembly pieces, and bolt kitting.

  • Ability to write technical instructions and manuals.

  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar (preferred)

  • Experience with SolidWorks COMPOSER or similar (preferred)

  • Experience with an ERP system (preferred)


Location / Schedule:

  • Onsite role in Gainesville, GA. Option to work off site 2 days / week once trained.

  • Monday – Friday work schedule.
