Our client, a manufacturer of turbojet engines, is seeking a Senior Jet Propulsion Engineer who will lead the design, analysis, and optimization of jet propulsion systems, contributing to the development of high-performance aircraft engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, extensive experience in propulsion systems, and a passion for advancing aerospace technology. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design Leadership: Lead the design and development of jet propulsion components and systems, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards. 

  • Project Management: Oversee propulsion-related projects from concept through testing, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals and budgets. 

  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans for propulsion systems, analyze test data, and prepare comprehensive reports to support design validation and certification efforts. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion systems into aircraft platforms. 

  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and technology advancements, contributing to the development of next-generation propulsion systems. 

Qualifications and Job Information

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred. 

  • 10+ years of experience in jet propulsion engineering or a related aerospace field, with a proven track record of successful projects. 

  • Strong expertise in propulsion system design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials used in aerospace applications. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights. 

  • Strong leadership and project management abilities, with effective communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Must be a US citizen. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with engine testing processes. 

  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques and emerging propulsion technologies.
