One of our clients, a leading provider of Automated Factory Solutions for the packaging industry, is seeking a skilled and motivated PLC Programmer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative automation projects with high-profile clients across North America and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical and controls scope for projects, including design calculations, load studies, schematic development, control panel layouts, and commissioning

  • Program PLC and PAC systems, primarily using Allen Bradley ControlLogix, including I/O mapping, sub-network communications, and code development based on client standards

  • Develop HMI and operator interface applications using tools like PanelView Plus, FactoryTalk, and other user interface platforms

  • Configure motion control systems, including servo and stepper drives (Allen Bradley Kinetix, Bosch Rexroth IndraDrive, VFDs), supporting both single and multi-axis applications

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical design teams to ensure seamless system integration

  • Interface with customers throughout the project lifecycle—providing progress updates, managing changes, and conducting onsite support and training

  • Provide technical support for system integration projects, service tasks, and pre-sales engineering as needed


Qualifications and Job Information

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience programming PLC-based systems using Allen Bradley ControlLogix

  • Experience with HMI configuration using PanelView PlusFactoryTalk, and enhanced PanelView platforms

  • Familiarity with motion control systems, including Allen Bradley Kinetix (K6K, K300), Bosch Rexroth IndraDrive, and/or VFD systems

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, along with effective communication and documentation abilities

  • Proven ability to work well in a collaborative team environment and manage responsibilities across the design, development, testing, and commissioning phases

  • Experience working with SCADA systems and industrial data collection/archiving is an asset
