Requirements

Our client is seeking a Lead Control Systems Engineer based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Lead Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for design and development of control functions, interfaces, tests of assigned features and functions, system level FMEAs and system safety analyses and implementation. This position provides a unique opportunity to interact with and gain a broad understanding of the e-mobility industry landscape.



Responsibilities:

  • Deliver documentation or designs as required, capture requirements and use cases as required

  • Develop test procedures to validate functionality (unit test, SIL, etc.)

  • Create test plan definition for new products with continuous feedback for new hardware/software revisions

  • Working knowledge of working with high power/high voltage products.

  • Work with suppliers, and various Charge Point Operators.

  • Work effectively in a fast paced, complex technical environment with high adaptability and flexibility

  • Work with product managers, project managers and technical teams to deliver high-quality products that meet business objectives

  • Ability to Travel 10-25%.

Qualifications and Job Information

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university, and/or an advanced degree.

  • 4-6 years control engineering experience.

  • Preparation of system design descriptions, logic diagrams and functional block diagrams, specifications, and material requisitions.

  • Define interfaces among control applications within software

  • Prepare and present technical design decisions and results to internal and external stakeholders as necessary

  • Demonstrated experience with model-based control verification and validation tools and practices, including but not limited to model-in-the-loop (MIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), and hardware-in-the-loop (SIL) and rapid prototyping.

  • Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 Ladder programming language (PLC CodeSys 2 and 3)

  • Expertise in Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, and Python

  • Good fundamental programming skills & practices, including development, debug, start-up, revision control & state control programming structure

  • Basic understanding of Electrical Schematics

  • Experience with one or multiple communications protocols like CAN, BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP using wired or wireless.

  • Good communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with cross-functional teams and external customers.
