Requirements

Our client is seeking a highly hands-on Automation and Controls Specialist / Engineer to support the design, programming, and commissioning of advanced automation systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning projects end-to-end—from electrical design to PLC programming and field support.

Qualifications and Job Information

PLC Programming

  • Develop and implement PLC programs from scratch for a variety of equipment and control systems.

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Carel, or similar platforms is highly desirable.

  • Provide remote troubleshooting support via phone and email.

  • Travel to customer sites for installation support, diagnostics, and commissioning as required.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on PLC programming experience.


Component Selection

  • Specify and select all electrical and automation components, including:

  •  motors, circuit breakers, relays, VFDs, controllers, and related hardware.

  • Create and manage Job Parts Control Sheets (JPCS) in Excel for procurement.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel is highly preferred.


Electrical Design

  • Design electrical schematics for custom HVAC and automation equipment.

  • Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD experience required.

  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical (2D/3D), or EPLAN is preferred.
