Our client, a manufacturer headquartered in Greater Birmingham AL, is seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Manager who will create and implement strategic procurement, production planning, compliance, scheduling processes and procedures for the company. This key role is critical in developing and maintaining domestic and global supplier relationships and performance evaluations to drive efficiencies across the Supply Chain.

Job Duties and Essential Functions

  • Supply Chain leader overseeing Procurement & Scheduling departments and activities.

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans and policies (domestic & international) for key commodities.

  • Collaborate cross functionally to maintain resources required based on demand.

  • Manage and develop supplier relationships, forecast, cost efficiencies, and quality improvement.

  • Ability to walk the production floor, identify issues and work with stakeholders to efficiently resolve challenges.

  • Evaluate and track performance metrics, regularly report and overcome challenges and drive efficiencies throughout the supply chain.

Qualifications and Job Information

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S, in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Logistics. Master's degree preferred.

  • 7-10 years of strategic sourcing / scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in developing and enforcing formalized metrics and reporting processes.

  • Experience working proactively in prioritizing Supply Chain related challenges and resolution.

  • Effective in a customer and supplier facing communications and issue resolution situations.

  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to work hands-on in a production environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams.

  • Experience using ERP systems and Excel to track and report key metrics related to Supply Chain.

  • Proficiency in standard MS office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally every Quarter.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience understanding and tracking metals markets and commodities (aluminum, copper, steel; etc.). Particularly, domestically and internationally sourced metals and cast parts.
