Our client headquartered in Hart County, Georgia, is seeking a Senior SolidWorks Engineer. This position is pivotal in creating, reviewing, and updating structural drawings and driving design for production efficiency using SolidWorks CAD tools.

This role will also be supporting overall design process and drawing configuration in the manufacture of steel and aluminum architectural / structural products.

This role will include associated tasks in production drawings, reverse engineering, with possible technical publication and manual writing responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally with an agile team of doers that are developing new innovative solutions!


  • Creation of precise SolidWorks 3D & 2D Drawing data for manufactured products.

  • Drive efficiencies in SolidWorks CAD configurations, design-table automation, CAD libraries and documentation processes.

  • Work with leadership, project managers and technical teams to deliver high-quality deliverables.

  • Deliver and present documentation and designs as required, capture requirements and use cases as required.

Qualifications and Job Information

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated expert experience Engineering with SolidWorks CAD tools for manufacturing (DFM) in a production environment.

  • Experience with Structural assemblies, details and fasteners.

  • Experience coordinating with licensed Structural Engineer for redlines and executing the completion of stamped production drawings.

  • Experience in creating SolidWorks, design-tables / configurations driving automation.

  • Experience writing SolidWorks macros.

  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM, as administrator, or as end-user.

  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify problems, and think creatively to solve challenges.

  • Experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Bill of Materials (BOM).

  • Ability to multi-task and communicate in a fast paced, technical environment with high adaptability and flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing with Sheetmetal / Weldments for hollow-steel part fabrication and production.

  • Steel architectural product design and detailing experience.

  • Experience guiding and helping to train design teams in process and best practices.

Desired Skills:

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree, in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution or equivalent.

  • Certified SolidWorks Associate / Professional in Mechanical Design (CSWA/CSWP).
